Everyone wants to look their best for their big day, one part of that is coloring your hair. So when is the perfect time? It all depends on on your color.
Here is a quick guide
1 week in advance- These colors loose vibrancy fast so the closer you can do this to the wedding the better.
*Fashion colors - Purple, Blue, Pink, etc… (if your fashion color is in the pastel family you will want to touch up your color as close to the wedding 1-2 days if possible. These colors only last through a couple shampoos so you want to make sure your color is noticeable.
1-2 weeks in advance- You want as little root as possible showing
*Highlights
*All over colors - Brunettes, Reds, Blondes
*Grey coverage
1 month in advance - This gives you the most wiggle room as time because the look already has a “lived in look” that people love so much!
*Balayage
*Shadow root

*Always remember to keep in mind the color you want for the big day so your stylist can best pair your style to your color.
*If you are thinking about changing your color, consult your colorist. Some color changes may take up to a year to to achieve ie.. going platinum blonde or going from light to dark takes a couple of appointments for the new color to set into your hair. You’ll want to plan ahead.
